FORCE is particularly interested in the following issues in the Crane Valley:

Planning
FORCE was formed during a major planning inquiry into the future of open space in the Crane Valley and we remain closely involved in monitoring planning applications and developments throughout the area. We believe in the need for the urban environment to include sufficient roon for green space to nurture the important connection between humans and our natural environment.
Biodiversity
FORCE is committed to maintaining and enhancing the quality of the Crane Valley as a place where humans share their habitat with wildlife. The Crane Valley forms part of a green corridor that links the north-west of London to the River Thames. We are working with other local organisations, including London Wildlife Trust and the Richmond Biodiversity Group, to improve local habitats and biodiversity.
Community involvement
FORCE believes in providing a quality local environment for all residents of the Crane Valley. We recognise that people use the Crane Valley for many different leisure pursuits and intend to involve as many residents as possible as we work towards improvements to the local area that are of general appeal. Our goal is for all residents to recognise and appreciate their local area and be proud of their open spaces.
Environmental education
FORCE recognises the importance of developing open spaces in a way that will help future generations appreciate their local environment. One significant means by which we can work towards this vision is to foster the connection between young people and local environmental issues. We seek the involvement of young people in all our projects and incorporate an element of environmental education in most activities that we engage in.

FORCE 's view of the importance of these issues is reiterated in Six short tales about a river.
